Pisgah Cream & Sugar Set

Copyrighted © 2007 by Linda Warner Constantino - oil on linen on board. 5"h by 7"w. Available unframed for $100. Email me if interested.

I bought this small Pisgah cream and sugar set a few years ago. They are only about 2" high. They seemed perfect for a small painting. I tried to stay loose with this one as a counterpoint to their perfect little shapes. It was fun finding the warm and cool blues and turquoise colors.

Nice painting. I'm making up words but I think you'll know what I mean by saying it looks a little Cezannish? Anyway, I love Paul Cezanne's work and thought there were some similar characteristics.

Tosh,
I think you have a point there. This a painting that I just started painting and then was it was like I was along for the ride. It sort of painted itself.
In the beginning I was thinking a bit about what Charles Hawthorne said about painting spots of color and tried to work more in that manner. I wanted it to remain painterly with a sense of interpretation.
Thanks for looking and commenting!
