"Blue-Green Group" - Sold

It's a cloudy day so I decided to do a still life. I collect Arts and Crafts pottery and I have a lot of little pitchers and pots. I love their colors and shapes. I painted this thinking more abstractly about shapes and colors. I could not resist the Queen Anne cherry for an accent. I am struck by how much tighter this painting is rendered than my landscapes. I think it is the challenge of painting the geometric forms and the fact that I can paint slower not worrying about the light changing. Still I try to paint spots of color without too much blending. As an experiment I used Galykd Lite as a medium just for the heck of it. Not sure how I feel about using it - a bit sticky.

Oil on linen board. Copyrighted © 2008 by Linda Warner Constantino.Available for $100. Email me if interested.

I am finally back painting as my shoulder mends. My doctor told me painting was good physical therapy!

I wanted to start out simple but this was still challenging with the brussels sprouts and yellow string beans. I used a daylight corrected light was cooler than I am used to. Nonetheless, I am enjoying painting again.
