Creating Art or Going Crazy

I had a professor at the School of Visual Arts who recounted a story that to me, has become kind of a litmus test for being an artist. It is simply this: if you walk away from your art completely and start to feel like you have an itch you need to scratch, or you feel kind of crazy and restless...doodling in the margins of you papers and such then you need to face up to the fact that you are an artist and do it. It has been like that for me. I do not know why a need to paint, I just do. I wonder if there is a word to describe this feeling. I would be interested in what others have to say.

I couldn't agree more.
It all started to make sense when I read this quote by the great Albert Einstein:
"True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist.”

Cool ... Sold that lemon. You have the best business model I've seen in a long time. IE : The web of interconnected sites feeding into ebay. I tried to explain this very thing to a friend several weeks ago, when he saw your set-up, he "got it". He was working with a fellow selling old car parts.

Saw this the other day, it's really pretty cool ....

It is exactly the same for writers..if you have to do it ..then do it! Otherwise that little "germ" keeps wriggling around driving you crazy!
Great to see you sold that pic.
Fingers crossed for many more.
